All About Family in Furious 7 Review

Family is not always about blood, it is about the people that have your back no matter the situation. Anyone can be a part of your family if they show these traits and that’s how the Fast and Furious series is portrayed, but now consequences has turned vengeful. Dom and his family are in for the fight of their lives as they are being picked off one at a time. It is time to knuckle and end this threat so there can be no more funerals.

::: SPOILER WARNING :::

So thanks to the Fast team Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) was taken down in London and all was good because Dom (Vin Diesel) and his whole Family were set free to live in peace. However with every action there is a reaction and this comes with a big bad brother Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) who is not happy how they treated his family. Now Deckard is the wolf hunting down everyone that was involved and his first victim was Han (Sung Kang) which brought Tokyo Drift together with the story nicely. First encounter was with Hobbs (Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson) who thought it was quite interesting someone hacking into his computer thinking it was okay. Deckard barely got away, but still landed Hobbs into a bad situation. After that passing Dom was ready to eliminate the threat noticing that there was an extra person lurking at the funeral. This is where things get interesting as the first meeting between Deckard and Dom almost ends with Dom’s end until a Nobody steps in to save his butt with a full military team.

There is more too Deckard than they were expecting, but now they have an arsenal to work with as long as they do this Agent Nobody (Kurt Russel) a favor first. It is a win/win because if they save the hacker they can use her tech to find Deckard which switches the table to being the hunters. However the action heats up at this point with plane drop with decked out cars, an amazing fight sequence with villain Tony Jaa and a Terrorist plot lead by Jakande (Djimon Hounsou) making this the biggest Furious movie ever. Came from just street racing thieves to ending up in Abu Dabhi fighting a worse evil. Damn good and bad guys have a great budget to travel around the world so much.

Furious 7 had the best of both worlds combining great action, suspense and emotion all into one package. We all knew that this was going to be the final performance of Paul Walker who was brilliant playing his role of Brian O’Connor. If I had to pick a favorite sequence it would definitely have to be the surprise from Tej played by Ludacris when Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) and he get ambushed by a guard, but Tej just goes all MMA on dude…my jaw dropped. I knew his character was full of surprises showing off his tech skills in Furious 5 and now being an aggressor to. You get my respect player; however don’t think the men were the only ones throwing down. The big grudge match with Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Prince Guard Kara (Rhonda Rousey) threw down in lovely party dresses which was the hotness. I swear this fight didn’t trump Dom and Deckard or Brain and Kiet (Tony Jaa), but it was amazing.

This movie ran for 2 hours and 20 minutes, but I wanted more. The cars, the women, the action and the romance; ah the romance and love was all in this movie showing how great they worked together. I particularly was enjoying Dom and Letty still getting through the issue of her memory loss, but how that ended I will leave that for you to see, because it was a tear jerker. Brian and Mia (Jordana Brewster) always had that great spark, but being under the circumstances it was really sad seeing it. One line I have to give away was by Mia, “Don’t say that, don’t say I love you like that because it sounds like good bye…say something else!” I had to hold the water works back, there was way too much emotion saying Goodbye to Paul Walker. It really did feel like that towards the whole movie.

The Comedy was hilarious too thanks to Roman (Tyrese Gibson). That boy will not shut up and he keeps to his role throughout the films. I think he shined even more in this film, especially in the party scene where he is distracting guest pulling this lovely lady up saying, “If everyone wanted to know who used up all the hairspary…now you know. Its her fault…thank you!” I was cracking up the whole time through each of his scenes, but I will share the car drop scene with you that starts off the hilarity.

In the end Furious 7 gets 5 out of 5 by delivering all the things it promised that a blockbuster movie should have. It really left you with a message about friendship, loyalty and of course family. I thought I would of been tired of the series by now, but they keep surprising me with great product and I am looking forward to the next one which is going to be filmed in New York this time. I guess the curiosity is driving me after Furious 7 because how will it be without Brian in the picture? In that Furious 7 is out now in theaters and I recommend you go check it out. If you have seen the movie, please share your thoughts in the comment area below. Stay frosty!

Sorry just had to add this of Tej and Roman’s reaction to Ramsey.
